We are set
on a volcano

We are at the foot of Mount Gorna, a small ancient volcanic cone on the southeastern side of Etna. Our landscape consists of oak and chestnut woods, walls of lava stone, brown earth, and scattered farmhouses. In the distance, the great fire keeper Etna is an active presence, reminding us that the soil we stand on is sandy, volcanic, and mineral. Here in spring, the festive vegetation of red valerian, St. John’s wort, and fragrant broom fill our eyes. Throughout the year, we can freely wander between the mountain on one side and the Ionian coast on the other. Our wines are born here, in this patch of land, at an altitude of 600 meters. That is why they taste like the sea and fire.

Our vineyard

We cultivate only native grapes, Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio, according to the sapling and espalier system.

The soil’s volcanic composition is unique and gives our wines unmistakable scents.

Etna Barrus Rosato DOC

Etna Rosato is an Etna Rosato DOC, scented with notes of violets, roses, berries, cherries and spices. The taste is fresh, savoury and persistent. To make it, we softly press the grapes, using their noblest parts. We then let the wine ferment in French oak barrels, where it gets its typical wood aroma and settles in its irresistible cherry pink.
